NORMAN ROCKWELL ART POSTER PRINT SCHOOLITIS DOCTOR

Product Description
The2FunAdGuyz offer a charming new print derived from the cover of the October 5, 1916 Leslie’s Magazine done by celebrated artist Norman Rockwell (1894-1978).
“Schoolitis” is the title and in the traditional Rockwell style it captures a humorous situation that was part of American Life, and frequently the life of boys. In this case, a young, redheaded boy is shown in bed, a worried (but we can guess she is also suspicious) mother hovering nearby. In front of the bed, with spectacles in hand and doctor’s bag nearby, a doctor winks at the viewer. A clear case of “Schoolitis” has been diagnosed—perhaps because the good doctor remembers the symptoms from his own youth.
Leslie’s Magazine from which this image is derived was one of three magazines, along with Punch and the original Life Magazine that dominated the magazine scene in the late 1800’s and early 1900s. Among their lasting legacies was that they served to give many rising young artists a chance to display their talents.
