Product Description

The2FunAdGuyz offer a new, high-quality reproduction print of a significant 1901 black and white photograph of Alexandra, Consort of King Edward VII of Great Britain. The date of the original photograph is January 30, 1901 just eight days after the death of Edward’s mother, Queen Victoria. Alexandra is dressed in mourning and is with Alex, her Champion Borzoi Russian Wolfhound. She would not be crowned Queen until August of 1902 and hence is here designated as a consort. Alexandra was a Princess of Denmark prior to her marriage into the British royalty.

Borzoi Russian Wolfhounds name derives from the purpose for which they were bred—hunting wolves—rather than their appearance. In Tsarist Russia, Borzoi could not be purchased but only given by Tsar.

PAPER QUALITY: This new print is on a highest quality, acid-free, 100-pound glossy premium text paper that allows for maximum color brilliance and fidelity for older images.
